Mini Moas - 5th to 7th Grade Mixed (Born 2015 - 2018)-Being Updated

Introduction

The #MiniMoas are dedicated to our entry level groups to football.  It is open to boys and girls aged between 4 and 7 (born 2015-2018).  The aim of the Mini Moas is to introduce young players to a structured programme of the game of football, providing them with fun and engagement through short simple drill sessions and then on to playing interclub games with their teammates.

Our aim is to use this time to help with basic ball control through a five-part structure incorporating general movement, technique, and coordination followed by small-sided games.  The players will follow the Papamoa FC framework which has been specifically developed for the Mini Moas.

Mighty Moas - 8th Grade Boys/Girls (born 2014)

Introduction

Our 8th grade programme is dedicated to Fun Football and is open to boys & Girls born in 2014.  Fun Football continues the journey of the five part structure incorporating the general movement, technique and coordination skills learned in the Mini Moas programme but spending some more time in the small sided game space to start the cognitive function of making decisions quickly and learning the basic rules of the game.

The players will again follow the Papamoa FC framework designed for 8th grade football.  It will concentrate on multiple group drills in 2v1, 3v1 or 4v1 scenarios, skill techniques, decision making and will incorporate safe zones to provide players the opportunity to assess their next moves.  These skills will provide them key learnings to move to the next grade.

Playing time (in process of being updated) - subject to change

Mighty Moas may play both interclub games and games against other clubs on Saturday mornings.  More information will be provided once registrations are closed.
